as long as they don't break the site's rules I don't care

they apply to forums threads/posts, profiles and signatures.

and as long as they don't have big huge banners, or those annyoing flashy things.

I will edit their signatures, then send them a PM explaining that I did that and the reason and not to do it again, if they have HUGE amount of flashy things, I will do as above and ban them for gettingmy brain angry.

Two of the admins on www.aonservers.com (me and support) have ads for the site. That way people accidently click them and such. It actually helps bring in money. But we dont' allow other users to post there ads in there signatures.

I allow it. But images stretching anybodies screen, or taking up half of the monitor, or the same link 10 times is against our rules. Advertising within reason is allowed on all my boards.

Another philosophy of mine is the WWW option in your profile. Stick that in there and be a productive and active poster and you'lll get some hits that way. Smile

same as i think. Smile

Signatures in my forums can contain 3 links, but no incentives. I allow my members to link with a nice description, but when I see "visit now" or similar stuff I hit the edit button

My forum is new so I try and be as lenient as possible. In the future I may limit what people post but at the moment I don't really want to offend anyone as the mor happy people on my forum the better Wink

Same here. I've had a few text ads (read: links) to member's sites in their signatures, but no banners or "hard-core" adverts yet.

In the previous version of my site, I had BBCode disabled in signatures, but now I'm allowing it.

I allow a few links and images, but I have rules as to the max number of lines and size of the images. It hasn't been much of a problem yet, most people aren't even using the signature.

Do you allow advertising in signatures? If so, what are the parameters? Text and image ads both?

In general I let many things slide, like someone's photography on flickr yes, but if it's blatantly advertising, no.
