avatars and smileys

I could of did this in other sections asz well but I decided to put it here.

know any sites where I can get avatars (different sizes or so) for my phpbb forums? also smileys...

As for my input, I look at the obvious places first, phpbb.com, phpbbhacks.com, phpbbstyles.com.

Another idea would be to visit popular forums. Generally a forum with many members and posts will have more than the average smilies and/or avatars. Smile

Yep.

Your friend google will give you hundreds of thousands to choose from.

Just do a search for avatars and when you have what you want do a search for smilies.

I have found with smilies though the best way to collect them is to get your members to post their favourites. I did this by starting a topic called Post a different smilie and then asked everyone to post a different smilie to what had been posted. I ended up with hundreds of them and also knew that the members liked them all to begin with.

If you search for Forum Avatars in Google you should find collections that you can easily download and then upload to your forum for you to use.

you have to upload them to avatar directory and enable avatar galery in your ACP, at that point all they have to do is update avatar in their profile
