Creating own buttons

I want to create my own buttons to use for "new topic", "new thread" etc.
The thing is that I'm not that good in PS. Can anyone give me some tips how to do ?

Look for online tutorials. There are tons of the around. You might also consider buying a book about the software or checking one out at your local library. Books will often cover basic image creation tasks like this.

The first link has plenty of styles to look at, the second is a tutorial on a glossy button. I know it isn't exactly what you were looking for but I don't know of any tutorials exactly like it. Hope this will help ya!
