I started a topic and Patrick replied, that led to another question: does anyone refuse your offer to become a mod? I mean I was extatic everytime I was offered a mod job since I knew I was chosen for my qualites (am very modest now Birthday Grin ) and I accepted ASAP.

Did anyone refuse?

When you manage as many communities I do, it's inevitable. Yes, I have had people decline my invitation. Smile

I've had several people turn me down over the years, likewise I've turned several people down. It's all about timing and what's right for the person at the time. When I invite people I always invite a couple more than I think I need because I know some of them will likely say no. Even if the don't, the nature of it is that some of them will naturally move on to other things.

I have had people turn it down, and i have turned other ppl down. People i didnt even know have asked to be an administrator. :| Personally i dont like worrying about how the acp is being used so I generally stick to being the only admin.

I have few mods since I have a small number of communities. When I asked someone, the answer was YES. Many were thrilled to be elected since I am quite picky, so it meant I did trust them a lot.

When the forums will grow more, I assume some people will decline eventually Smile

I have turned down the position, and I have seen others turn down the offer.
It would depend on the situation.
