Ooh, I suspected but wasn't sure Olympus would have that feature, but after what you said I assume this is so and am glad such a feature is present.

It's hidden somewhere in the CVS version I'm running, can't remember where it is now that the ACP is so huge but it's in there Smile

Well this feature isn't available in SMF. Well it is, but it is not a User Group permission. I need it to be a usergroup permission, because in my forum, "Editors" are required to keep updating their list (post) and hence I made my own HACK to make it a user group. Couldn't make it into a MOD though, so manually went and modified SMF code to make it as a Usergroup Permission than a global setting.

I've documented it in detail so everytime I upgrade my forum, I can apply the hack again.

I've currently increased the time to 24 hours. I don't know why I did it though Smile I just felt like trusting my members more because of the few members I have all of them I know are not the type to do abuse their rights Smile

I'm glad I have the mechanics set up though, I can with a click of a mouse bring back post editing time restrictions very easily. And that gives me a lot of reassurance Smile

Teknomancer been there too ..

This is why on my main Martial Arts forum (the Romanian one) they can edit a message till 15 minutes pass from the initial post. I don't want to have to go through this again (having to salvage what I could from hundreds of posts)

Ouch!! 15 minutes IMO is waay too low Big Wink

hi all

it's the quote button i don't like

one of my members in fun so they said, changed part of another members post, changed parts to capital letters, made some words bold and added words.

I was not amused or the person who did the posting

it was done in fun, but i feel someone could do this and cause a lot of problems

15 minutes sound reasonable to me. I take it upon myself to make sure I'm satisfied with my post before I leave.
