I *detest* using default themes. It's the first thing that I get rid of on a new forum. Very Happy

I usually find a theme that roughly suits the theme of my site, then I butcher it into something competely different. On my main site (http://www.phantomgerry.net), I initially used the PurplePulse theme. I modified the colours, then the header, and mixed in some buttons from the Solaris theme. Now it looks nothing like the original and I'm very pleased with it.

It's important to give your site a unique identity, and leaving the default theme untouched doesn't allow that.

I have two default themes right now on two separate boards. I plan on changing the text color on one, but the other is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. All I did on that one was alter the link behavior a bit. I of course have unique logos for each - that's a must.

I can't remember the last time I used subSilver for my forum, I believe it was back in 2004. For other things, such as PHPiCal, I have the default theme for that.
