Regarding 'in context' ads, such as the ones appearing after the first post, I've opted to put ads here only if the user is a guest of logged off. That way, the majority of people visiting the site will see them, but regular users won't have to put up with them.
Some people also like to use a 'get rid of these ads by registering' as a method to entice new members aboard, and while that may not be necessary for larger boards with good readership and participation, I think it can be a good idea if your board is new.  |
