I'm 95% set on starting a new community on a new domain tomorrow and I would like to know if you think the word forum or forums would be better in the domain. It would be either www._____forum.com or www._____forums.com. I've always had it as forums, but everything I've seen, other than Patrick's forums, has been www.____forum.com or XForum.net, etc.

I think it really depends on what flows.

www.dogforum.com doesn't really sound right.
www.dogforums.com sounds better.

www.thehtmlforum.com sounds ok, but so does the plural form.

Choose what sounds right to you.

I think it depends on the word before forum or forums. Although in most cases the plural sounds better. Truestar Forum versus Truestar Forums. Although it's technically fora, Forums has a nice ring to it and can fit with nearly anything. Smile

probably the hardest decision i had to make ^_<

Forums though just sounds better in most cases. Im kind of odd in that i usually put my forum in a subdomain instead of giving it a real domain.

Maybe not the smart page rank thing to do, but ive never really followed google around that much anyway ^_^

Good choice, that is the one that I would have recommended, mainly because it is a better description. Your community is made up of FORUMS not just one FORUM. That's how I look at it anyway.
