I don't think forums are a fad. They've been going on for quite a while and I don't see them going away. Certain types of forums may be considered a fad based on the content (i.e., Anime, TV Show Forums, etc...). But the concept of a forum by no means, IMO, is a fad. _________________ Ohio State Buckeyes Forums |

| Forums are not a fad - they just happen to be the best online outlet for people to express their ideas and share. Social Networking sites offer similiar capabilities but fail to create the threads of continuity that a good forum provides. |

Saying forums are a fad is like saying paper is a fad. Though it's true that paper may one day be superseded, the general idea remains, so it didn't really just fade away, but it evolves. So what I'm saying is that forums of considerable time into the future may look radically different from forums today, but they are still forums so long as the computer and other net connecting technologies remains the mainstream medium for communication. _________________ [ The Infinity Program Forum ]
