I stumbled across this a few days ago.

http://www.phpbb-security.com/check.php

What it does is send out some bots to your site and see if they are able to register a new account and/or make some posts on your site.

Now, my only issue with it is that it can sometimes fail to recognize your forum as phpBB-- in my case, it refused to perform the test on my forums, even though they have the "Powered by phpBB" notice at the bottom.

On the other hand, I had it go through a more 'normal' phpBB forum I have and if you enter in your email address, it will send you a report of what it found.

The test itself seems legit; I haven't received any spam from them, via email or the forums. Smile

Hey Dog Cow,

Interesting link. Thanks for sharing. Smile

For fun, I tried it on one of my sites and it gave me 8 spam points. There were two issues (so I'm guessing they each get 4 points or something like that). Links in the memberlist, which is true. Also, they said guests could post. But, they can't. So, I don't know how it deduced that.

I sent the link to a couple of friends with phpBB Boards.
Though I mainly use YaBB, we should all keep an eye out for each other!

Thanks for the link, DogCow!
And a Hearty 'MOOF!' to you!
