|
|
Hey everybody,
I scraped my old history forum, and am starting over. And was wondering if I could get some advice on MOD's.
So far the MOD's I've installed are:
- Forum Post Count Enter Limit
- Website By...
- Lock/Unlock in Posting Body
- Global Moderators
- Did You Know? MOD
- Characters in Signature Used so Far (Profile Editing)
- Auto Unban Main Admin
I plan on installing:
- Statistics Hack
- Forum Calendar
- MainAdminSecurity MOD
- Online/Offline/Hidden MOD
A lot of these MOD's are small things that people probably won't notice anyway. So, I was wondering about my selection, and if anybody else has any MOD recommendations?
EDIT: Ooops, forgot the link...

I know that, I just want to know if there are hacks that most admins would recommend, or if I should seriously consider installing, or even ones I should stay away form. _________________ Truestar

Definitely quick reply and a useful tool for the ACP is the Admin Userlist. Also, Dates for Humans is a good one. Thoul had some good suggestions when I asked him a couple months ago. _________________ [The Smash Syndicate] Ek Pyros - Out of Fire |

Do a search using admin as your keyword and find all the hacks for admin use and select the one's you may like and download them to a special folder (mines called hacks ) that you can refer to at anytime and install them when and if you feel they will be beneficial to you.
I have probably 250 hacks in the folder but I dont use them all ... those that I dont are there because they looked interesting at the time or they didnt work they way I thought they would and found them to be of no benefit to me.
I have kept them because at times people want to help with certain mod and I can refer to them so I know what I am talking about instead of searching through and downloading them again.
I also leave notes to myself in the install files as to what my opinion of the mod is and on what forum I have installed it. _________________ ~HG~

Wow! I really like history. I am going to be a history major in college. I could answer questions about history people might have like crazy! _________________ Brent Kincer - AdminsCube.com Owner

I would love to teach history, but I'm worried about the pay. Money may not be everything, but you need it to get by in life. I'm sure there is some school in New York that offers decent pay.
But also, list updated. The Auto Unban Main Admin was one I find very comforting. Now to work on the MainAdmin Security.
I also would like some advise on the admin voting MOD. This is the MOD that allows you to see who voted for what option in polls. I'd like to put it on, but I'd like some opinions. Besides, what privacy issues could arise? _________________ Truestar

Updated 3/5/06
I've added the staff site MOD, and ezPortal. Let me know what you think! I feel I've accomplished a lot, so I hope when you browse around you get the feeling "Wow, nice." If not, let me know what I need to do. Styling is something I'd like to adjust, but I'm starting to grow used to subSilver. _________________ Truestar

I just saw it actually and like it. All I can offer is that you need a nice, unique logo or banner up top. _________________ [The Smash Syndicate] Ek Pyros - Out of Fire |
