I have a bunch of websites, but my biggest and best is a Cornhole game community. It's not a massively popular site, but it does pull a fair amount of traffic, especially through the summer ( up to 3,000 visitors/day ).

After I'd created my first few sites, I learned about Host Gator hosting, and I've been really happy hosting a bunch of my newer, smaller sites on one of their unlimited accounts.

I'm currently in the process of updating my cornhole site, and I'm tempted to move the entire site to a new domain (separate issue), and a new host. I've had great luck with Host Gator so far, but I'm a little concerned with how they might handle a more complicated site - specifically one with elements like a phpBB3 forum, Coppermine Gallery, and Wordpress installation.

Has anybody had any experience with a site getting too big for it's host? Or has anybody had any bad experiences with Host Gator that I should know about?

Thanks to anybody who replies!

Hey Jeremy,

Congrats on the success. Smile

Have you asked Host Gator? I'd be curious to hear what they said.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hey Patrick. I haven't ask them this question specifically, but I have contacted them about their different hosting options.

From what I can tell, they can pretty much handle anything that GoDaddy can do - probably better in certain situations.

With HostGator you have the ability to upgrade your account over time and still preserve all of the sites you already have. Basically, if I do need a dedicated server, etc., at some point, I can make that happen as an upgrade.

I am going to try moving one of my bigger sites over to HostGator soon. I'll send an update after a while to let everyone know how it goes!
