Do you have a "How did you find ______ Forums" topic on your board(s)? If so, do you use it for mental statistics?

I have a sticky thread in my intro forum. But not everybody responds to it. I am always wondering where some people come from. I know that quite a few of my members join from other forums I visit, but some of them are new.

I have one... Not everyone reads it though but yes I do try to take into account where people came from and improve on those entry points.

I used to have a topic like this (I think I still do somewhere)...

From what I've seen on my site and others, this kind of topic is not very popular. It is very gratifying for the administrator to find out how people find their site, but those topics quickly get buried behind others.

If you want to track where people are coming from, try setting up a refferals script. If you have phpBB, you can get one here.

I've never done it formally, sometimes I see members discussing it though. It's probably a good idea, something I *should* do. Wink

What he said.

I'm thinking of adding a field to answer such a question within the profile. I suppose I'll wait for Olympus.
