50 new threads a day is a must in order to start a forum from the scratch. I don't have too much time on my hand, could make 100 in a day with ease Smile Am quite inspired sometimes Laughing

Damn you guys!!!!!!
How do you find so much to post about!!!

I find that I post on a lot of NZ forums and keep links in all my signatures to get people to look.
I rely on word of mouth and google advertising.

The BMX site was an interesting one.
It evolved from a site about my partner and his pics for hs friends, to having stories about events to people asking for advertising for events and asking me to put up their pictures for them.
I then came across a bmx forum which has since closed down and I found at the time it was so frustrating to use because of their crappy software, soI decided to add one to rideBMX and it was a great move.
It has been a slow grower, but I try to keep the posts relevant and while it goes through phases of busy posting and quiet posting periods its reasonably active....maybe 20-30 posts a day at busy times and with 400 odd users its not too bad.
Its slow to grow, but I dont mind as BMX is a small sport in a small country and its the biggest and longest running BMX site in NZ.

The Mitsi site is fairly new, it is also a slowish grower but in the last month or so it has about 50 users and about 10-15 of them are active.
I have been posting a lot...but still only 2-5 topics a day on the quiet days only.
I dont want to overpost. But then I feel obligated to keep the conversations up when its quiet.
