What have you done to make your community SE friendly?

The only thing I've done really is install a search engine friendly archive. I've also edited the way phpBB did page titles by default, removing the "View Forum" and "View Topic" parts.

I've done most of that big "Search Engine Optimization" hack. Removing session ids for guests, changing around latest post links, editing page titles, and putting mod_rewrite on the URLs. I've never done the archive stuff, I just don't like that approach too much.

On the next community I plan to launch, I'm adding a mod_rewrite hack that gives the topics URLs like making-your-community-se-friendly-vt1261.html. I've seen that installed at another forum, and Google seems to just eat it up.

Yeah, I think might be interested in that sort of hack myself, eventually. I tried to do something like that once, long ago, but it killed the server I was on so it scared me good. Laughing But, I see places that do it fine.
