Hi,

For my Extended Essay, I'm doing the mathematical modelling of messageboard growth. My focus in the study is to investigate the relationship between post growth, thread growth, user growth, and hit growth.

If you have a messageboard of your own, I would really love and appreciate it if you'd allow me to record data from your sites.

All I need is monthly totals for how many posts were made, how many threads, how many new users, and how many hits the site got. (the last one is optional, but still quite valuable)

That data is easily obtained through the Statistics Mod for phpBB. I'll be able to get all the data I need if you install it, and the following modules: Administrative Statistics, Number of new posts by month, Number of new topics by month, and Number of new users by month. The installation is easy and would only take about ten to fifteen minutes.

The Stats Mod doesn't show hits, but if you have that data and are willing to share it, I'd definitely appreciate it.

Participation in my little study is entirely voluntary. Nevertheless, I'd really appreciate it. I will be certainly be sharing the findings when I'm done the project.

If you are interested in participating, or have any questions, feel free to reply to this post, or to PM me. If you're wondering, "how can I volunteer my data for this", just send me the link to your statistics.php, and if you have a hit counter with monthly totals, direct me to that as well. Smile

Thanks,
Elbie

NO NO NO! Another soul lost to IB!

I just wrote my EE on some Ernest Hemingway novels. Your idea is much more original haha.

Yes, you can use my stats if you'd like. I have two forums with the Stats hack up - Bobsnox and Shannara (both in my sig).

Thanks for the offer - I'd be glad to use your stats. However, your statistics.php don't have all the modules I'd need, namely:

Posts by month: http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/677
Topics by month: http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/676
Users by month: http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/678

If you were to install them, I'd very happily use your stats! Smile
