| On the matter of banning, what's your setup to allow mods to ban? I installed some mod ban panel that originally instructed me to put a link to the panel in Overall_header, but then everyone can see it. I deleted the link and left a text link in the Mod forum.. |
I have ModCP installed. It lets me turn on and off modules for ban control, user management, mass e-mails, etc. I have all modules turned off except ban control.
I also installed a hack that adds a modCP link to the top in overall_header under the other links. Same for the Admin CP link.
I also have the Cards mod installed which gives the mods red, green and yellow buttons on posts. |
Do you have the link for the ModCP hack? I installed the enhanced ModCP, but that definitely isn't the same thing.
Stitch - you just have to wait for the right person. For you, that's going to require a lot of patience because of the specificity of your forum. Not many people are devoted to Morels nor the practice of hunting them. I'm not even sure what all that means...
Ex0dus - I did the same thing as you at first. I had I think 5 mods: 1 actively posted, 1 helped me with some IRC stuff (still does), 1 was a friend who at first was an admin, but as his interest in the forum declined, so did his rank, and 1 who was very interested at first, then got busy with moving and working.
This was all while we had < 35 members, so having any mods at all was pretty much a useless idea. Now we have three - two are more helpers than mods, and one who knows what she's doing. We never really needed more than that with two extremely active admins who did enough modding for all of those mods combined. _________________ [The Smash Syndicate] Ek Pyros - Out of Fire |

| Global Mods, that way I don't have to go through the hassle of setting up individuals for each forum. |

How is it a hassle? Is your forum big? If your forum isn't too large it shouldn't be a hassle. However, if you have like.....30 forums, then I see your point. _________________ Truestar

Thats sounds about right.
Although the (2) forums I have does not have groups, the ability is still there for one day to fill.
In one section of one board I/we run we call 'Rented Rooms', where members who have earned the privilage, and asked for one, get their own mini-forum to manage. In this way- they get to learn how to mod a forum of their own and later on when we need a group or Global Mod, we choose from them. Makes the job much easier in choosing. |
