Do you have global mods, groups of mods per forum, or specific mods for each forum?

I user the usergroups of phpBB to create groups that have moderator power in all forums I want moderators to have power in. So, global moderators, in other words.

I have three global moderators and 24 moderators, out of the 24 mods five of them are section mods (moderate all the boards within one section of the forum) the rest moderate a specific board.

I have lots of activity around the clock so I try to have section mods who are able to be on when most board mods are not. Two of my global mods live in the US as I do and one lives on the other side of the world. Trying to get "perfect" coverage has been tricky ... lol

It really depends. I like to give people Moderator status on the board they have knowledge in. If that board is their "expertise", then they Moderate that one. But if there's 3-4 boards they know nothing about, they probably won't be Global Moderators. But then again, if they're smart, and I make them Global Mods, they should know enough to stay away from the boards that they have no clue what anything is about. Laughing

Seven global moderators. My wife is one of my mods. I'm the only admin (founder and owner).

We have support team and VIP ranks that have a few of the more minor mod priviledges like posting stickies, etc.

Early on one of my current mods was made a mod of only one forum at first, to see how he would do. He did fine Very Happy

Our community is currently around 20k members. The forum is connected with an online role-playing game so much of the forum relates to game play as well as two boards for role-playing your game character.

It can get pretty wild. And we do have stricter standards than most game forums. Our goal is to keep it family friendly .... get a bunch of gammers together and that can be a rather big challenge ... lol

Im backwards >_> 5 admins, and just 1 mod o_O

The mod controls his own personal forum and one other forum and then us admins ususally take the role as global moderators (when not doing the adminning thing) >_<

This setup hasnt really been stress-tested as we usually dont have alot to get mad over, yay for well behaved users =D

That is interesting. Do they all participate frequently in discussion?
