Hello,

Me and a friend are planning a website. We live in seperate parts of the country (US), and want to start a website for teenagers that will act as several things. Not only a source for fun/games/jokes/music ect...but it will also be a springboard to other sites through linking.

We want to break borders and involve people from all over the world. We want to set up a system for people of all races to report news/articles that are from their perspective and the their location's perspective.

And offer homework help, etc.

We really want a lot of the site to be surrounded around our forum. We will definitely use cash mod. But without a store cash is useless. So what can we do? We don't want to be like every site out there. What can we offer for points ect?

Any ideas are more than helpful and appreciated. What games can we use, what can we sell (fake cash), what can we offer. What can we do to make an out of the box website?

Thanks a lot,
-Josh

Use cash for items such as an image of countries flags, or vehicles from that country. Wink

If the point is to reward your participants perhaps they could trade the cash they earn in for capabilities in the forum such as signature linking, avatars, title, etc.

Also consider that your market is the most sought after market for regular companies. If you can gain traction in your forum with the visitors in your age bracket many brick and mortar companies would gladly provide perks, contest prizes, etc. to your board in order to reach the same audience you have.

Thanks Truestar--I'll definitely consider that.

Toucan: I was definitely considering the possibilities of outside insentives. If I could get a successful base of teenagers at the forum, then I could set something up with another company. That I think will be my ultimate goal, as far as points go!

Okay based off some thought and these responses I have complied a brief plan. Tell me what you think and what I can do to make it better!

PLAN>
Having a small shop which features user effects, forum capabilities, flags etc. I also offer a small myspace type page allowing users to pay (monthly with points) for a small website page set up and controlled like myspace (strictly moderated!!).

Anything else out of the box?? What about access to a private forum has anyone had success with that?

Thanks a lot,
-Josh
