Do you read every single post on your board(s)? I guess having many trustworthy moderators would cut down on the need, but regardless - do you spend time reading every post? If you do, what reasons do you have for doing so?

Yes. I read every last one. Yup, all 100 posts. Laughing

But I would try my best to read as much as I could. There is so much, posts can keep you into the flow of discussion, or show you what's been ticking a member off. Not to mention an active admin should read anyway.

How can you be a part of the community if you don't know what's being posted? So yes, I generally try to read every post. Smile

Not a chance with the number of posts that are made on the forum it is almost impossible to read them all.

I read just about every post, but being as I'm the admin I'm pretty interested in everything everyone is talking about.

Its not fun to post when you dont read what others say =p

Since my 6 forums are in their infancy I can still keep up with reading them I log 3-4 times a day (or stay logged for more hours) and just hit the new posts link from time to time. I could easily step back from 3 of my forums (since I have mods there), but I would rather know what's going on in my community. At least now, when there are not that many messages to track.

No. Not really possible. The general idea is to try to get at least one set of staff member eyes on each and every post, though.

There is no way I could read every post every day. As Patrick said, that is what the mods are for. I generally have at least two mods to a slower forum board and four or five on the more active boards. Its pretty clear from the mods posts in their private board that every post is getting read. They work well enough together so that if one has to be away for a while he or she will let the others know and they step in and cover for him or her.
