After having had some time to look into a lot of possibilities I'm still @ sq.1 with really what I want to do with regards to achieving a higher ranking in the search engines.
I even hung out in EFNet on IRC in #SEO and #PHP hoping to find the contact I was looking for who would be my "knight in shining armour'. And for a minute it was looking like I had found a SEO expert but I haven't seen him/heard of him for days now so I've knocked it on the head.
I'm fine with installing mods and I'm aware of the mod_rewrite and other mods like the Able2know stuff but one BIG concern is what if even after having done all of these mods to achieve higher ranking and it still shows as having had no affect. _________________ ACAPELLAS4U Acapella forum for all your acapella, acappella, a-capella, accapella, vox, vocals, diy, cpu, discussions. |

| Definately, as far as I'm aware there isn't one that is any good, nor is there a plan for one, due to its relying on Apache and mod_rewrite. |
Indeed. phpBB can currently run on anything, from IIS to Abyss webserver (not to mention all kinds of databases). Requiring mod_rewrite would take away one of the big advantages phpBB currently has over the competition (portability).
As for SEO stuff... you could always write templates and include a copyright line at the bottom of every page. This will count as quite a few inbound links and will really boost your Google PageRank which will, in turn, give you a higher ranking in Google (and probably all the others, too).
Whatever you do, the effects aren't going to be immediate. It'll take a few days, weeks, or perhaps even months... |

Queen.Zeal, that's something that I haven't read anywhere. You strike me as a person with a bit of knowledge in this area. Care to talk more in private? _________________ ACAPELLAS4U Acapella forum for all your acapella, acappella, a-capella, accapella, vox, vocals, diy, cpu, discussions. |

I'd actually prefer questions be asked out in the open. This way, others can benefet from the answers and others can even provide the answers, should they know them. Plus, the free time I have is sort-of limited, actually... |
