Smilies! :)

Smilies are one of those little things that can add some flavor to a forum. Do you use the default smilies in your community, or replace them with some different images like Patrick has done here? If you use other images, where did you find them?

Personally, I replace some of the images and keep others. I use the default image for :) and confused because I haven't found replacements that I want to use yet. I get most of my other smilies from mazeguy.net. There are some good ones, and some weird ones, there.

I kept the default and added a lot of custom emoticons. I got many of my other avatars from other forums, or sites like phpBB.com and the one for the IPB software.

I leave the default ones for the most part, i never use em >_> besides noone else at my community seems to really mind the default ones anyway ^_<

I have a hard time finding good smilies so usually I have the default.

But if I ever found an excellent smilies site, I would definitely change them. Smile

I use the default ones but I was checking out the site mentioned and I'll probably pick up a few from there to add/replace current ones.

I use a Smiley set for SMF boards not the default one. I really love the smileys on my site, its bigger than most smiley sets but after all since mine is a cartoon community it suits it well Birthday Grin

A google search with the terms Smiley + Emoticons brings up quite a few others.

I replace all the smileys. I don't like the defaults.

I would like those IPB ones much better if they didn't have those white borders that show up in dark templates.

I tend to replace them all with up to date smilies as the default ones have well and truly had their day.
