The setup I mentioned has continued to pretty much completely stop people from posting (I believe this was primarily due to Visual Confirmation on New Posters, which is a terrific hack), but as ~HG~ mentioned, plenty of them were still registering, so about a week ago, I changed up our setup. I uninstalled The Humanizer and Advanced Visual Confirmation. I installed Photo Visual Confirmation and replaced the default images. It has been working terrificly.
I even turned off Visual Confirmation on New Posters to see how it would stand on its own and, again, it has performed excellently. I don't even know if we've had one spam post on any of my sites. What we have had to deal with, however, is old spam accounts that got created and confirmed and have been stopped from posting by Visual Confirmation on New Posters. So, those old accounts have been posting some spam and we've been weeding them out, but it hasn't been that bad.
The combination of Photo Visual Confirmation and Visual Confirmation on New Posters (especially if you want to allow guest posters) is a terrific tandem. _________________ Patrick O'Keefe - CommunityAdmins.com Administrator
