Yes. I had this younger administrator who would constantly ignore my staff guidelines by banning users without asking me, hiring new staff without asking me, being disrepectful to me.

It made several members leave because they couldn't stand a youth being so disrepectful to an adult.

I wont make that mistake again!

Have you ever had a staff member who did what they wanted, despite what you told them?

To be honest, the problem should be with them being disrespectful, not because they were disrespectful AND young. Smile Plenty of people are very, very disrespectful and also very, very old. Smile

We had a young (14/15) mod at MT for a while. Kid did a good job, but lost interest after a while. I think that's the biggest concern with kids on staff is 'stick to it ness'. But if you choose carefully, they can be professional.

Yeah, that's a legitimate concern, but again, I think that's a concern for everyone, not just teenagers. I've had grown adults disappear on me, as I'm sure you've had, as well.

Oh, the horror stories I could tell.... LOL! Had 1 guy vanish on me twice, first was a 8 month MIA, popped back in, apologized, we let him back on board, and a few weeks later went AWOL again. That was over a year ago, haven't heard from him since. Did hear from someone else he was alive, and hadn't been kidnapped by aliens, so..... Smile

Somehow I have a feeling us admins are going to be prime pickers for when "they come". Laughing

As far as staff disappearing, that's another issue we should discuss. Smile

Yes, many of the moderators I work with have a tendency to act higher than everyone on staff, the users, and even some admins. It grows very tiresome and frustrating. They just add to the hostility at that place.
