Hey,

I just thought I'd put a post up about TLA to see who else is using them. I've found them to be a great way to generate some revenue that you wouldn't have otherwise had in an unobtrusive manner. They do a good job. I'm very happy with them.

I still plan on using them (thanks for sending the link to me long ago, Patrick), but I haven't had a chance to get set up yet.

Anyone actually know what the minimum requirements are for TLA? I don't seem to be able to find any information on this on their website.

(as you can guess, my site was rejected Very Happy )

I've searched google and some people posting about this on their blogs suggest they were rejected even while having a PR4 or greater. I'm not sure if they use PR as a measurement, but they do mention link popularity and traffic as the basis of their analysis of a site.

I use them successfully on my network together with linkworth. I earn now 400 USD/month (not a lot, but still pretty decent) and it's increasing. Can't wait to develop my sites some more so that my earnings would also get better Wink

Just a note, since I started this topic, we have stopped using them due to Google's stance on them. I wasn't happy about it, but it was a decision that I felt I had to make, unfortunately.

I'm with you Patrick.

I was making decent money (the most out of any ad program I've used) but after Google has been penalizing and sandboxing sites that have been using TLA and other DirectLink programs I feel its not worth the loss of Googles searches. I disabled it and 2 weeks later rose to the first page for almost all my main searches.

Whether google should be able to do this is a completely different discussion, but I see both sides.

From the other standpoint as a previous advertiser with Text Link Ads I have been nothing but disappointed. I've never been able to get a hold of anyone in customer service even after spending nearly a thousand dollars with them. On the end of the publisher standpoint I have little experience.
