What they get is a link-back to their site and the more the links they have on the Internet, they think search engines will rank them higher. Remove such 0 post members with links in their signatures... or better remove their signature.

Well, I have both the phpBB standard visual confirmation installed, plus e-mail confirmation turned on.

they don't make signatures they never care to re-visit or better i think they are just some softwares it can't real person. the website are the field which phpbb puts while registration, i wish i could somehow delete that field, but i don't know how to delete.

but as i said i have blocked .mail.ru and this much is just working fine.

with my new board i have tried this and + blocking mail.ru and it seems working fine untill those spammers get a way for that too

Yeah, I thought about that, but wasn't sure if there might be some legitimate mail.ru users. Maybe that's a bit too idealistic.

There are some. I had one at my forum once. It's just like Hotmail or Yahoo - there are some real users and some fake ones.
