Hi everyone. I've just signed up after reading Patrick's book. Twice. I'm going through it a third time now, armed with a highlighter.

His book and Amy Jo Kim's Community Building on the Web are without question, my favourite online community resource books.

I signed up on the forums here to share ideas and hopefully learn more from my peers.

I'm currently working as a project manager at a large media company (newspapers, television, and online). I mainly manage software development projects but some of my work touches on community development and social media.

Outside of work, I've run a few small communities in the past (25-100+ members). I also worked (many years ago) for iVillage.com as a Channel Leader, similar to a moderator, in their Pets:Dogs forums.

I'm currently working on a new content and discussion site about shingles and the postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain) that 20% of people suffer following a shingles outbreak. I'm not sharing the URL just yet as it's still under development but once it goes online, I'll add it to my sig file here as well as request feedback.

I'm specifically interested in learning more about growing member lists and revenue.

Cheers to all. See you on the boards.

Welcome aboard, Tripp. Thanks so much for the kind words about my book. I really appreciate it! Best of luck with your new community.
