Do you have a section at your board specifically for members chosen because they stick out some way, such as being more contributive than the rest?
I do not, but it's been considered. . . in fact, the topic by which brought that fourth is still open to comment in my staff forum. _________________ [ The Infinity Program Forum ]

I do not, but my forum may not be quite like yours. There is no competition or hierarchy among my members, and I don't like having structures that put members in different "classes." The only exceptions are the Ranks (which I use because they are interesting) and the moderators (who obviously are above members). So, a private forum for contributors is a "setting apart" structure, and I won't use it.
That said, I *do* have a private forum that only members can read and post in...mostly because I don't want conversations there to be picked up by a search engine. But that's not hierarchy: that's a benefit to being a member.
Just my take. _________________ Cross+Flame

I was thinking more along the lines of what StarDestroyer.NET has: their most contributive members become "Senators", and there's a forum for them that they can post in, but regular members can view, where topics are made to decide the fate of trolls, change such things as signature/avatar size/dimensions or keep it the same, etc. The Senators have a say on forum matters, but they don't have any moderator powers.
It's also good to have a forum where only members can view. _________________ [ The Infinity Program Forum ]

No, I don't think its a good idea as far as my forum is concerned; well its too early anyway.
But for bigger forums it might work. _________________ Toons & Comics Community

I have a "Staff Room" for moderators. Does that count as a special forum? _________________ Literary Forums

I do, but it's not active at all since not many people have permission to see it. I've been considering making an entire private board for invited members only, but I haven't had time to work on the project. _________________ [The Smash Syndicate] Ek Pyros - Out of Fire |

I have a Bar under members Name
it stars off with one ruby and no bar saying new member
bar is added when become full members after 10 posts
then ruby added after so many post with a comment
then when 2, ooo post's the bar changes to gold with 5 ruby's
when someone reaches that, i will have to do a rethink
i don't have a bar as i do post a lot, and i don't think thats fair on the members |
