An update from me
I have an IPB forum I started last week. The script is available for free from my host (made sure I get all the info). It's IPB 1.2 but it does the job.
It's indeed filled with features ... had some problems, but it's OK now. Am starting learning to work with it too. Still most of my forums are on phpBB _________________ Webmaster articles, tutorials and topics |

I was always a fan of Snitz until I tried to install and mod one of their boards and run into many problems.
I then came across phpbb 2.0.4 and have been with it ever since.
phpbb has come of age as the best forum design in the world and the ease of modding it, is second to none. _________________ ~HG~

*tatoos phpbb 2.0.x for life on his arm* It was the first one i found and the only one i really had a fun time working with. Alot of the others were too cluttered or bulky for my tastes (ironic, i know) PhpBB taught me php basically and because of that, i have an easier time "reading" the phpbb script than any other php based program.

| i could be wrong as ive only really used phpbb, but i think that the main advantage of it is that its has far more mods available. And they are simple eneogh to load. |

Well, I'm more familiar with vB, but... I'm getting familiar (somewhat) with the inner workings of phpbb. I've had someone install quiet a few hacks, and am still waiting for the other 3 to be installed (he seems to have become occupied elsewhere), and once they're installed, I've gone into the html pages and read where things are and such. I've been able to re-arrange a few things.
Still not comfortable with installing anything... don't know that I ever will be. But reading it after it's installed and making minor changes has been a learning experience.
I think I'll stick with phpbb _________________ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience |

Why phpBB2, of course. Is there any other kind? _________________ The Conversation Pit
