It's just an arbitrary file extenstion. You can change it if you want.

Well, our site got hacked so we're using RC1 now. I've got a nice template going and I hope that everything stays stable. Laughing

Lastly, this poll is assuming that you'll upgrade when phpBB goes Gold, not before.

For me, I'm going to implement code changes of phpBB 3 incrementally. That is, build Mac GUI to phpBB3, but it won't be a "true" phpBB 3. It will be a hybrid. Part v2, part v3. This will be due to the complexity of Mac GUI, and the number of extensive program modifications I've done.

Already, I'm using code borrowed from phpBB3. The pagination, cron system, view topic, and viewforum pages all have code from phpBB 3 in them.

Cannot say I am going too fast to that point. I have some phpBB's on the 2.0 series and I am very pleased with them as they are (with 40+ hacks installed). Don't think I'd upgrade too soon

I changed my mind since I last posted in this thread: I will be upgrading to vBulletin as soon as this week.

Soon I hope. The software is lovely. If you like attention to detail, the developers are geniuses.
