|
|
I'm looking for an online planner which gives me useful adverts when I want them! and I came across a rather comprehensive and plentiful list of 'web 2.0' sites.
http://www.sacredcowdung.com/archives/2006/03/all_things_web.html
It made me think 'who actually uses these sites and why'. So I would be interested to know what sites people use and why. These are the sites I use and why:
Meebo - Better design than MSN Chat
Zopa - Might make a bit of money
MySpace - millions of other people do!
Youtube - fun sometimes
Purevolume - easy to use
erm..does anyone know of any personal planners which gives me useful adverts when I want them? If so please advise me on this also. For example on 1st December I get a reminder that Christmas is coming up and adverts for things I might want to buy people as presents. _________________ www.poweroverwireless.com |

The reasons I don't use Web 2.0 sites are mostly I don't see the point of them.
I mean, MySpace, what the deuce!?!? I went there once and it had the most horrible, ad-cluttered interface. I couldn't navigate it or find anything! I see people on it every day, wasting hours of their day doing nothing. I can count on my fingers how many videos I've watched on YouTube. I don't need Flickr, since I've already got my own Gallery.
If I want the features of any of those sites, I'll build them myself. I don't need to use other people's Web 2.0 sites. _________________ Dog Cow, administrator of Mac GUI City |

Different people use the internet for different things. We all spend our time differently and that's important and should be respected. Someone may look at what I do, which is work most of the time and say that I am wasting my time, wasting my life, etc. I can understand that. But, we all do different things. One person's waste is another's desire.
Myself, I'm not a big MySpace user, but I login from time to time (I use it as a journalist, as well) and don't have any problem navigating it, I love the content that YouTube has helped me to discover (Barats and Bereta, Derrick Comedy, Poykpak, The Angry Video Game Nerd, Blame Society Films, etc. etc.), I think that Last.fm and LinkedIn are really cool sites. And so and so forth. I'm not really a big critic. Most of the time, when I am critiquing something, I am critiquing myself. Other than that, I like to relax when I get a chance to visit these sites. Part of what makes the sites great is not only their features (which are certainly impressive), but also their userbases and contributors. I can appreciate what they've accomplished, as a user, as a content creator and as an entrepreneur. _________________ Patrick O'Keefe - CommunityAdmins.com Administrator

Well, if other people find them useful, that's good. _________________ Dog Cow, administrator of Mac GUI City |
