I can't design banners, or any graphics at all. Fortunately, one of my administrators is a good designer, and I have a good resource in the PinkPT site.

I used to have GIMP, but then we couldn't open a single JPG in a different program. 
All I have now is MS Paint, I'd love to try GIMP again because that was awesome. 
I don't make my own graphics, but that all depends if GIMP works in the new future.

I prefer simple themes and simple banners. For one thing too much graphics on top always tends to take away the focus from the content of the site, which I think is critical.

I do my own, but I'm not the most creative or talented when it comes to stuff like this, so they usually aren't that great. Good enough I guess, but not memorable.

Whem I choose to use banners I generally get the members to make them based on what I am after but then I dont particularly like them myself as they can be a distraction to the forum.
In the new themes I am putting together they will all have banners which will be made from the cellpics (ie large cellpics) with nothing more than the simple title on them.
The banners will all be 750 (full width) x 75 high and the pacakge will include a blank banner so that anyone that downloads them can simply add their own text to them for use on the forums.

| I have friends who make my logos. I have the programs to make them, I just don't have too much of the know how. |
